TYPES OF COMMISSIONS
Type1. An Art by Design Commission
In this instance my clients chose the subject, "Birth" suggested a theme and requested a proposal based on approved dimensions of the canvas. A few sketches were done showing the sequential development ( seen below) of the main concept, along with a color rendering (completed in color pencil) for my clients' approval. My clients were then asked to sign the Client acceptance of terms form PDF for work to begin.
Finally they were encouraged to give the painting a title and they did, they called it : "Generations" based on the paintings narrative suggested by the use of its inherent symbolism.

Type 2. Artist's Sole Concept Commission
Initially the client bought an original painting from me and from that experience came a subsequent commission.
They suggested where they wanted to hang the painting and simply said, I love your work, please have a look at the colors in my living room and paint.
A written proposal was completed for them, however no sketches were required, and approval was granted on that basis.
They were then asked to sign the Client acceptance of terms form PDF for work to begin.
In this case I titled the painting Cosmic Swirls.
