"If we climb from that region of technique to the more spiritual sphere of interpretation, what anguish we experience in trying to find the soul of a composition behind the inert notation."                      Andres Segovia

ABSTRACTS

From the forest floor series

The  "From the Forest Floor" series began with a desire to  move away from the underlying structure of previous work and to explore abstraction through a more expressive process, it was one that I found  quite liberating. They are a direct development from the first Series  "Spheres and things" that can be seen on this  website.  Images provided by:  sdornellasartndesign.com - All rights reserved

My Obsession Series

The My Obsession series was inspired by the beauty I have always admired in the male form, even at its most vulnerable, the nude.

Taking a cue from my previous paintings on dance themes, I worked to achieve the dynamics I find appealing.  I wanted the figurative elements of the series to appear more abstract, seem plastic, and the movement from one form to another to be fluid.

In the end, the synthesis of form, movement, and color, became my obsessive conveyors of the kind of beauty, of which I am so fond, thus the chosen theme My Obsession.  Images provided by: sdornellasartndesign.com - All rights reserved.
